If consignees want their goods to remain stuffed in the container beyond the 30 days limit, they need to give written notice to ESL before lapse of the 30 days free time.The most important point customers need to know is that ESL has the liberty to unstuff the containers in the port area with or without prior notice to customers and hold the cargo for any container detention charge due till date of unstuffing.

to approach ESL to clear any demurrage incurred for the container. get instruction from ESL to the port agents for release of cargo in the container.

obtain from the port terminal Interchange Receipt or confirmation on actual unstuffing date of container.

Consignees who need to transport containers to in-land destinations must make sure
- to deposit cash as guarantee for the container demurrage.
- sign undertaking form with the terms & conditions of release of container for inland haulage.
- to obtain Container Interchange Receipt upon taking delivery of container from the Port Terminal and returning the empty back to the Port Terminal.
- that Original Interchange Receipts are submitted to ESL.

- Containers are kept and handled safely while they lie in their custody and returned in sound condition with no damage or loss of parts.
- In case containers falloff trucks during transportations damage occurs in their custody consignees must notify ESL immediately.
- Whenever containers are returned to port, Original Interchange Receipt signed by the Port/ Agent must be obtained and delivered to ESL.
